Newly Created Position to Continue Driving Demand and Market Expansion

SAN MATEO, CALIF. — January 5, 2010 — Composite Software, Inc., the data virtualization leader, today announced the appointment of Gary Damiano as the Vice President of Field Marketing.  Mr. Damiano brings more than 30 years of sales and marketing experience in ERP, CRM, Enterprise Performance Management, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), as well as the integrated marketing programs that drive sales expansion. In this newly created position, Mr. Damiano will focus on continuing to drive Composite Software’s market success as the company expands its market coverage to new territories and vertical segments.

Composite Software is experiencing tremendous sales growth—over fifty percent in 2009 alone—and is the defacto leader in the data virtualization market.  To meet this demand, the company has aggressively increased its direct sales team and reseller channels.  Mr. Damiano and his team will help Composite’s field organization develop data virtualization market opportunities across both new and existing accounts.
“Composite Software grew substantially in 2009, in spite of the sluggish economy,” said Robert Eve, Executive V.P. of Marketing. “This growth illustrates the increased demand for data virtualization middleware and services.  Composite Software is the only company that focuses solely on data virtualization. We will continue to emphasize product innovation as well as expand our customer and sales outreach efforts and Mr. Damiano is the perfect candidate to drive these efforts forward as we move into 2010.”

Mr. Damiano joins Composite Software from Host Analytics Incorporated, leading provider of SaaS-based CPM software.  At Host Analytics Mr. Damiano served as the Chief Marketing Officer and the V.P. of Marketing. He was responsible for all aspects of corporate, product and channel marketing and increased leads generated from 200 leads/quarter to over 1,500 leads/quarter while also reducing cost per lead by 40%.  Prior to Host Analytics he served as Senior V.P. of Marketing at WorkStream Incorporated where he helped increase the sales pipeline generated by marketing programs from $20 million to over $100 million in less than 6 months. Mr. Damiano also spent over 15 years at Oracle Corporation and the Siebel Systems in various marketing leadership positions, including his role as V.P. of Marketing for Oracle on Demand.

Mr. Damiano will be based in Composite’s San Mateo, California headquarters.
